Good day everyone!
I'm glad you are here for this part 2 series.
Now usually I wouldn't have done the antique booth in such a short time frame. I am normally a big planner to the point of exhausting the subject. But sometimes things happen that forces you to rise to the challenge; and with big challenges comes the bigger reward when you accomplish it. The thing is, for me, sometimes I work best under pressure. I like deadlines, of course, which are even better if you can set them yourself, but I need them or I tend to procrastinate.
My son, said something funny once about procrastination, which was, "A procrastinator is just someone who is thinking about doing something longer." LOL! I think he was in 6th grade at the time.
I think of procrastination as something like that too, and Bill Watterson (the author of Calvin & Hobbes) said, "You can't just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood. What mood is that? Last-minute panic."
So even though doing the antique booth in 3 days (or less, if you read part 1), caused some panic, it also gave me a challenge that I felt pretty darn good about after I finished it.
As you already know by now, I love to decorate, paint, and create spaces. It's such a part of me that I don't imagine I will ever stop unless physically I can't! But I will still be doing it in my head! LOL!
Before I did any planning for the space, I knew I would paint the back wall and I absolutely love gray so.....here is the back wall of the booth before it was painted gray.
This is my daughter who helped me paint the back wall. Not sure what she is doing here but I'm sure she was having fun! ;0)
The mantle behind her was something my husband and I had built previously. It was the inspiration to this setting.
Next, we put up the side walls on the left side. Here is what it looked like before we started:
Here is what it looked like after we put up curtains on either side of the two walls. I decided to leave the existing white door (which happens to be my booth neighbor's side wall) exposed. Isn't it great? And this is the little desk vignette I was talking about. I didn't get a photo before I staged everything because I was in such a hurry! :(
Next, we put up the 4 panels to make the wall for the right side.

Again, I forgot to take a picture before we moved stuff in and staged it so it's more of the finished product.
This little trio bookcase is something that I had been using in my office that my husband and I had built before. It will remain in the booth for a while for display. I was glad to be able to use the bookcases in the booth so that I could re-do my office! :)
This wooden rolling cart that you see here with pillows on it was something else my husband and I built previously. It works great for display and it can be moved!
Here is a close up of the mantle. I have to talk about this because it is a funny story! We built this for my little shop previously and when the shop closed, my hubby used it outside on his patio for his TV. When I found out that I was getting the opportunity for the booth and asked him about using it; he was a little reluctant. After all, it looked pretty good on the patio against the brick wall and it was utilitarian at that point. I joyfully explained that it's going to be winter soon and I could build another mantle later for the booth so he could have this one back. However, when we moved it in, we decided to put a sale ticket on it; at, what we thought, was a high price. And guess what?
Yep, it sold the very first day! I was shocked and I won't tell you what Garrett said about it!!!! LOL!
This photo is of the Chateau Arm Chair that I re-upholstered and painted and also the Companion Side Table that was painted in combination with a stained top. They make a cute couple, don't you think?
This door was perfect to display my wine racks and signs! I love the vintage look to this door and as I mentioned before, I decided I wanted it to be seen and not covered up like the original plan.
These next photos are some more close-ups of merchandise and staging. I had a great time doing this and I thought everything looked so cozy when I was done. In fact, I was so tired and it looked so cozy I probably could have curled up and fallen asleep right there! Just kidding!
I normally paint a lot of armoire's, desks, small dressers and tables so that the space will lend itself to all of these pieces displaying well. I have a 7-piece table and chair set that I will be painting soon with a Thanksgiving-themed table setting! Fun Stuff!
We finally finished up at 10:00 p.m. Friday night. I want to give a BIG hearty "Thank You" to Martha, the owner of Daisies & Olives, for staying that late so that I could get this all done for Saturday. I am a lucky girl to be part of such an amazing place. While I was there, I got a chance to meet some of the other vendors & my neighbor, "Pretty Quirky". I'm very excited to get to know everyone and to continue to learn and grow doing something that I absolutely LOVE!!!!
