A look back at our favorite furniture restorations

Furniture Restorations 2016

Happy New Year Everyone!

I'm excited about a new year of furniture restorations, DiY tutorials, and a few home renovations. The new year for me means a look back at what happened last year, getting re-organized and setting goals and aspirations for the future. Along with this year's goals for the blog is to feature more DIY craft tutorials, furniture builds and easy recipes for the family. I am also considering adding another element to the blog by adding some lifestyle advice, but I'm still tossing around ideas on that so I will talk more about that in the next coming weeks. Outside of the blog, there will also be some changes for Maison Designs Home on the business side of things, in the next few months. I will be sharing more on that as we get closer to those changes.

The last three weeks, we have been spending a lot of time with my family and friends just relaxing and enjoying our time together. It has been a much needed break. The previous few months had been crazy busy and I needed a mental reset! As a creative person, I find that when I hit the reset (take a break), I tend to be happier and more productive. This had been something that I had ignored in the last 4 months of 2016, which tended to effect my creativity process. While on break, I spent a lot of time on Pinterest for inspiration, watching my favorite HGTV shows (Fixer Upper & Property Brothers) and making new plans for business in the new year. I'm not really alone in this process, as I noticed a lot of blogger friends saying the same things. But I'm rested NOW and I'm ready to start this year in full force!

One of my favorite quotes reads,

"Let her sleep, for when she wakes, she will move mountains!"
