Christmas Home Tour~Dessert Bar

Tis' the Season for all good things,

including hot chocolate and yummy sweet treats! Every year we do a hot chocolate, cookie and dessert bar and this year we decided to make cupcakes and a beverage bar for coffee, cocoa and teas! I found the most awesome black chalkboard cupcake liners at Home Goods! I mean, where have these been all my life? ;) If you have been following the blog this season, you have already seen the Christmas tree theme we have incorporated into the house this year using black, white and green tree accents. I decided to make candy Christmas tree cupcake toppers for our cupcakes. They turned out so cute and the forest chocolate cake is delicious!

I made this "Tis' the Season" sign for the dessert bar. I cut a round board for the chalkboard with my jigsaw. I stained an embroidery hoop and hooked it around the chalkboard and tightened the screw to make a snug fit to hang.

Here is a look at our kitchen decor over our stove. The kitchenette area is where we have a bistro set and the dessert cart.

And of course, our pup Chewy is doing much better after his surgery and is never very far behind me, hanging out with me here in the kitchen! He has a sweet spot! :)

Today, I have just been finishing up wrapping some presents and some more baking. I made butterbeer fudge (adapted from Harry Potter and the notable beverage) and tomorrow morning I am making some butter pecan cookies. I'm a little behind but there's still time and I'm moving slower on purpose this holiday season and thoroughly enjoying the pace.

Tomorrow will be spent with family and friends enjoying each other and some yummy treats; then it's one more sleep!
